Holding Hands

I had a piece ready to post when I realized that the topic wasn’t particularly uplifting for the beginning of a new year.
So I scrapped it for now, and instead want to take this opportunity to wish each and every one of you many blessings in the New Year.
May you enjoy the gift of good health.
May you give and receive the love of friends and family.
May you find joy in every day.
May you find peace in your heart, no matter the circumstances.
And most importantly, may you feel the grace and presence of God in your life.
I also want to thank all of you for reading and supporting my blog this year.
I deeply appreciate the precious minutes you spend reading and commenting, as well as the words of encouragement you so generously give.
It means more to me than you know.
I always experience a degree of anxiety at the dawn of a new year because I can’t see what lies ahead. I worry for the well-being and safety of my family, friends, our country and the world.
But we’re reminded to keep our minds on “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy…(Phillippians 4:8).
Therefore, let’s think about the new babies we’ll welcome this year, the graduations and weddings we’ll celebrate, the new friends we’ll make, the exciting opportunities that may present themselves, and other blessings that have yet to be revealed.
And let us also be reminded that no matter what this year brings, we won’t face it alone. We have each other and we have God:
The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” (Deuteronomy 31:8)
So join me in giving thanks for all that was, and all that’s to come.
And lets hold hands as we journey through 2017 together.
